American Idol!

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Hey everybody!

Thanks for all your awesome ideas for my magazine. They really helped me a TON!

So, there has been a ton of exciting stuff happening lately….so much stuff, in fact, that I don’t have time to type it all! So I guess I’ll tell you about something REALLY cool… I went to a taping of American Idol!!!!!!!!!!! I got to meet Simon and Randy!!!!! How COOL IS THAT?!? Oh my gosh, I was so ecstatic! Simon goes, “Look into my eyes.” So I do, and he says, “Yes, I like you.” AHHH! Having Simon Cowell say he likes you is like receiving the stamp of approval from the end-all human being. haha!

Anyways, seeing American Idol in person was so much fun! My favorite contestants are Michael Johns, David Archuletta, David Cook, Jason Castro (so all the guys lol), and Brooke White. I’m hoping they are the 5 finalists!!! But enough of my faves…who are your faves? Let me know! Just write a comment to this post and tell me your favorite(s).

 More later,
      ~ Jennette :0)

P.S. I went to the KCA’s last night…they rocked!!!!! For more info on the KCA’s, check out my website in a few days. I’ll be sure to post a journal entry there and fill you in on some of the AWESOME people that I met!

Quiz Answers and Original Girl magazine

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

Hey everyone!

Sorry it’s taken awhile for me to post up the answers to the quiz I had in my last blog entry, but I’ve been INSANELY busy!!! I’ve been doing charity work, attending numerous screenings/premieres, doing lots of interviews for various magazines/books/etc. , and skating a ton. It’s unbelievable how quickly my calendar seems to fill up nowadays.

Here are the answers to the quiz I made in my last entry…

1. How many brothers do I have? a) 3
2. What’s my favorite color? b) pink
3. What is my favorite dessert? b) ice cream
4. Who is my favorite actor?     a) Johnny Depp (Will Smith and Tom Hanks are both two of my very favorite actors, too)
5. Who is my favorite actress?   c) Meryl Streep (once again, a and b were also some of my favorites)
6. I have been to the mall in… b) pajamas, a bathrobe, and rainboots (yes, I have been….several times. lol)
7. What’s my favorite music video? a) “White and Nerdy” (It is so cool!)
8. What instrument do I play?   a) piano

14. What’s my favorite song?     a) “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders (”Home” and “Chariot” are at the top of my favorite song list, but I just LOVE “I’ll Stand By You”. The lyrics are so touching and the melody is so straightforward yet really rocker-ish at the same time. If you haven’t heard this song by The Pretenders, I recommend looking it up!)
15. What is my favorite kind of flower?   c) sunflower (They’re so bright and beautiful!)

Thank you all for taking the quiz…you did so well! I wish I could thank you all individually but it’s really late so I should be getting to bed. But please know that the only comments I read are here on my KEWLblog…and I read every single one….so keep posting and I’ll be sure to keep reading!

Before I go, I really wanted to ask all you girls out there reading the KEWLblogs a question….what kind of stuff do you want to see in the monthly magazine I make? It’s called Original Girl, it’s 32 full-color pages, and I’m hoping to make my magazine available online by the time the May issue comes out. The more ideas you have, the better! I don’t care if your suggestions are five words or five paragraphs, just please post them in response to this blog entry. You will help me with my magazine so much and I really appreciate it! Thanks! And boys, you can pitch in ideas, too, if you’d like. I wouldn’t want to leave all of you out!

K, I’ve got to go to bed. I’ll write more soon! And check out my official website (www.jennettemccurdy.com) to view my journal entries on there. My official website’s journal entries are more personal, journal-ey-ish whereas my KEWLblogs are more random, off-the-wall stuff. I hope you like them both!

  Bye!

What do YOU want to see?

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Hey KEWLmag readers!

I want to start off by saying a big “hi!” and “thanks!” to everyone who posts comments on my blog. Thanks to you, I know people are reading what I’m writing! Also, I really want to say hey to Sami, who is such an AWESOME fan…she’s been there from the beginning! :

Hey Sami! Of course I remember you and your many wonderful letters! And yes, I still have the awesome friendship bracelet you made me. It’s tucked away safely in my desk drawer! I’m sorry I fell out of contact with you….it seems I’ve just been getting more and more letters and it just keeps getting harder and harder to keep up! But I would definitely like to start writing to you again! Just so you - and anyone else who’s written me a letter (or letters) in the past - know, I try my hardest to always write back. It may take a few weeks (and occasionally a few months), but I always try to write back. So if I don’t write back to you within a few months, PLEASE write to me again! Thanks!

Also, hey Kristin and family!!! I love and miss you guys! I can’t wait to see you and I hope you have a fantastic Christmas!!!!!

Okay, so as some of you may already know, I have two blogs: the one that you’re reading here at kewlmag.com and the one on my official website, jennettemccurdy.com. After the past few posts I’ve written on each blog, I’ve realized that they’re both kind of similar… in fact, maybe a little too similar! So, to change things up a bit and make each blog unique and “kewl”, I’ve decided to keep my blog at jennettemccurdy.com as it is, sort of like a journal. (Keep reading cuz here comes the KEWL part!) My KEWL blog will now be a place for me to basically do a bunch of fun, crazy, random stuff. There’s just one little catch…I can’t do it on my own! I would love for all of you Kewlmag readers to reply to this blog post telling me what you think I should do for my next entries. Your idea can be silly, dramatic, humorous, serious, zany, or whatever you want it to be. You can even just ask a question if you’d like! Whatever you decide to do, I’m sure I’ll love it!

Well, I hope you’ll all help me out cuz I can’t think of what to post for my next entry. Thanks to you all!!!!!

    Happy Holidays,

My Vacation to Arizona

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

Hey everyone!

Firstly, I just want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who posted comments on my various blog posts. I read them all and I really appreciate it. Your words are so supportive and encouraging!

Okay, so you saw the topic of this entry…My Vacation to Arizona. Can you guess what this post is gonna be about??? lol. Anyways, I went to Arizona last week for a few days. My family has done this trip every winter (well, fall actually…but it feels like winter!) for the past few years. We stayed in this adorable little town called Williams. It’s awesome! On the first day of our trip, we drove out to Sedona and ate yummy pastas and breads at this place called Wildflower. The next day, we drove to Flagstaff so I could get some skating time in (ya gotta love ice rinks!). That was super fun because my mom even put on a pair of rental skates and skated with me. I was trying to teach her some simple moves like stroking, 3-turns, and swizzles and she learned everything so quickly! After skating, we went up to the Grand Canyon and walked around for a little bit. It is so stunning…I never get tired of looking at it! Then, we drove back to Williams and rode on The Polar Express! It’s so much fun. For those of you who don’t know, The Polar Express is The Grand Canyon Railway dressed up just like The Polar Express, cool conductor and all. Once you board the train, you get to drink hot cocoa, listen to and sing Christmas songs, and just relax with your family! It’s really nice. The next day, we drove all the way from Williams back to our house. It was a loooong drive! We listened to Christmas music, though, which always helps the time to pass quickly. I am sad that the vacation is over…it was so much fun! One of my favorite parts of the trip was meeting so many great fans in every stop… whether we were at the ice rink, the Grand Canyon, a restaurant, Sedona, or riding on The Polar Express, I was so fortunate to meet so many terrific fans who made my trip even more fun!

Before I go, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Sorry I’m a little late! What did you all do? I stayed home and watched the Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV, then helped make some side dishes before enjoying the HUGE feast! I was so stuffed at the end of the day!

     I’ll talk to you later,

         ~ Jennette :0)

My first KEWL blog!

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Hey KEWL readers! Let me just start off by saying how kewl it is that I have my very own blog here at kewlmag.com! I can’t believe it. . . this is awesome!

So, it’s almost Halloween!!! I don’t know about you guys but I am totally into holidays. I went to the pumpkin patch yesterday after hockey practice and it was quite fun! I got one of those cute little orange- and white-striped pumpkins. I don’t know how I should decorate it! Any ideas?

I’ve been checkin’ out icarly.com and I’ve noticed how many of you sent in pictures of your Halloween costumes. They look terrific!!! I’ve been sure for the last few months (yes, months!) that I was gonna be Luna Lovegood for Halloween. For those of you who haven’t been as involved with Harry Potter as I have, Luna Lovegood is one of the main characters in Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince, and Deathly Hallows (the last three books in the series).  Anyways, i got to thinking . . . I was Hermione for Halloween a few years ago. Should I be another character from Harry Potter, or should I try out something new? I decided to go for my “something new” option . . . a chef! I have a cool chef’s apron and one of those puffy chef hats. I’ve got a big mixing bowl for my candy and a nice whisk so I can whisk my candy around until I get to the pieces I like! And to top it all off, I’m gonna smudge a little frosting on one cheek and dust the other cheek with a sprinkling of flour . . . a marking of a true chef! (Okay, not really. . . but it looks chef-ish!)

Before I go (due to a heavy load of history and algebra 2 homework), I want to say how grateful I am to all of you iCarly fans out there. Being a busy kid myself, I know how crazy our schedules can get whatwith sports, instrument practice, school, and even work! So thanks for clearing out some time each week to tune in to iCarly! Also, thanks to all the awesome people who have come up to me and said how much they love the show and/or my character. It makes me feel so wonderful when I hear these great comments. . . thank you so much!!!

Well, I’d better get going. A stack of schoolwork is calling my name!

 Bye!

~ Jennette
